Ahead of the 2016 G20 summit in Hangzhou, China 4-5 September CAN Europe published a briefing on the EU’s funding for fossil fuels.
The briefing shows that there are numerous ways in which the EU channels public money into fossil fuel investments, despite the EU’s pledges to phase out fossil fuel subsidies by 2020. The briefing focuses on a number of EU funds, institutions and policies that either directly or indirectly support fossil fuel production and use, and provides recommendations for how to reform these policies and tools.
