On 18 November 2024 CAN Europe organised a press conference during COP29 in Azerbaijan, where a panel of experts reflected the developments during the first week of the conference.

The press conference covered the state of the negotiations (in particular the EU’s role in climate finance), the European fossil fuel lobby in Baku (numbers and impact) as well as the shrinking space for civil society participation in Baku.
