Joint letter: Energy Ministers must support a coordinated withdrawal from the Energy Charter Treaty

Ahead of the informal European Council meeting on the 12th July, organisations from across Europe are calling on EU Energy Ministers to support a coordinated withdrawal of Member States from the Energy Charter Treaty. The European Commission has already announced it’s intention to withdraw from this disastrous Treaty. A full, coordinated withdrawal can protect EU climate and energy policies and speed up Europe’s transition away from dangerous fossil fuels to a fully sustainable, renewable energy system.
