ECODES leads a campaign to raise the ambition of decarbonising buildings and to promote building renovation measures as a long-term solution for energy poverty and a way to foster a fair energy transition, by targeting Spanish and European energy and climate legislative packages.

We are fostering a coalition of Spanish organizations to alleviate energy poverty, focused are civil society organizations; (Social and environmental NGOs, social housing providers, trade unions, academia, etc.).

The main objectives are:

  • To engage energy poverty stakeholders and building sector in renovation wave, generating debate and consensus on solutions and keeping pressure in order to increase building renovation, with special attention to energy poor household.
  • To ensure ambitious targets of building decarbonisation in Spanish and European climate legislation and economic recovery package and a good implementation of existing programmes and strategies, as a way to leave no one behind.
  • To bring building renovation in the public debate as a solution to energy poverty, decarbonisation of economy and generation of green jobs to tackle post-covid19 crisis.
