Just Transition Young Voices Awards 2025 – Open for Applications from 28 May to 28 July

The Energy Community Secretariat, in cooperation with Bankwatch, CLEW Network, RYCO, and CAN Europe, is pleased to launch the Just Transition Young Voices Awards 2025.

This initiative invites young individuals aged 18–30 from the Western Balkans, Ukraine, Georgia, and Moldova to share compelling stories about how their communities are navigating the shift to a greener economy.

The Awards aim to foster youth engagement in energy and climate journalism, with a special focus on just transition themes. Submissions should be original, fact-based articles (700–1100 words) in English that explore the challenges and solutions linked to fair and inclusive energy transitions.

Three prizes will be awarded:

  • A one-month paid internship at the Energy Community Secretariat in Vienna;

  • A field mission on energy transition in the Western Balkans with Bankwatch;

  • Participation in the Climate Reporting Journalism Training with CAN Europe in Ohrid (1–3 September 2025) – applicants should save the date. Travel and accommodation costs will be reimbursed.

Winning pieces will be published on key partner platforms and presented at the Energy Community Just Transition Forum. Applications will be evaluated by a jury comprising representatives from Bankwatch, CLEW Network, RYCO, and the Energy Community Secretariat.
