New Call Open: Support for the People’s Climate Summit in Türkiye

News

The objective of this call is to support civil society organisations and grassroots groups in Türkiye to strengthen public engagement, mobilisation and advocacy for climate justice and a just transition in the context of COP31 and the People’s Climate Summit. The People’s Climate Summit offers an important civic space for communities, civil society and social movements to exchange knowledge, articulate collective demands and amplify perspectives that are often underrepresented in formal climate decision-making processes.

Through this call, CAN Europe aims to support initiatives that contribute to the preparation, visibility and impact of the People’s Climate Summit, while strengthening broader civic mobilisation around COP31.

Supported projects should aim to:

  • Raise public awareness and understanding of climate justice and just transition;
  • Mobilise communities and broaden participation in climate action;
  • Strengthen cooperation between civil society organisations, grassroots initiatives and social movements;
  • Support civic engagement and advocacy linked to COP31;
  • Contribute to the organisational capacity and long-term resilience of climate justice movements in Türkiye.

CAN Europe will prioritise projects that:

  • Contribute to the preparation, participation or follow-up of the People’s Climate Summit;
  • Are community-led and rooted in grassroots organising;
  • Promote inclusive participation, particularly of groups whose voices are often underrepresented in climate decision-making;
  • Adopt an intersectional approach to climate justice, linking climate action with broader social and environmental justice issues;
  • Engage wider publics beyond established climate networks;
  • Foster collaboration and coalition-building between national and local organisations and movements.

Eligible Locations: The applicants must be based in Türkiye.

Funding available: €10,000
